It is important for all oxygen patients to monitor their oxygen levels. The 9500 is the smallest and easiest unit to use for monitoring of oxygen levels. It is fully automatic, easy to read, and extremely accurate. The unit is powered by two ordinary AAA alkaline batteries and has a great instant-on feature: insert your finger and it turns on automatically...remove your finger and it turns itself off. ----- Dr. Brent Blue

Still the Leader in Fingertip Pulse Oximetry
Nonin Medical's many years of experience in pulse oximetry innovation led to the development of the self-contained Onyx® 9500 over 15 years ago. Years later, the Nonin 9500 continues to lead the way in accuracy, durability and value. Hundreds of thousands of people all of the world have purchased the 9500 for their pulse oximetry needs and the it remains one of the most popular fingertip pulse oximeter units on the market today. Incredibly accurate, easy to use and made to last, the Nonin 9500 provides the best in clinical-grade pulse oximetry and versatility needed for wide range of situations.

Nonin's unique Pulse Quality Indicator provides a quick and accurate assessment of pulse quality, minimizing training needs and allowing the user to quickly determine if they are getting an accurate reading. The bright LED display is easy to read in varying light conditions and angles. The Onyx is ergonomically optimized and meets testing needs ranging from adults to pediatric patients.

Trusted by Doctors, Patients -- and the Military
The quality characteristics of the Onyx 9500 and 9550 fingertip oximeters from Nonin Medical have made them the only fingertip oximeters approved for use aboard U.S. military aircraft. To achieve U.S. Military Airworthiness, the Onyx 9500 and 9550 had to maintain performance and pass a battery of stringent tests. For a list of the specific tests the units went through, see the Tech Specs Tab above.

Everything You Need Included
The Nonin Onyx 9500 includes everything you need to start getting accurate oxygen saturation and pulse readings. The 9500 package includes:

Need Additional Functionality?
The Nonin 9500 is a great tool for most home users who need accurate pulse oximeter information without the full capabilities of other clinical-grade equipment. The principal shortcoming of the Onyx (compared to Nonin's higher-priced models) is that it cannot use a remote sensor, making continuous monitoring something the 9500 is not well suited for. Also, it has no alarm, memory, or the ability to interface with a printer or PC. If you are looking for these features, consider the Nonin Onyx II 9560, PalmSAT 2500, or the WristOx 3150. Most home users don't need these features however, and it is no surprise that the Onyx, with it's quality and accuracy, is by far our best-selling pulse oximeter.
