What happened To The 9500 Onyx and 9550 Onyx II?
After over 10 years of service, Nonin decided that they can offer patients and medical personnel more for their money by incorporating the elements of what made the 9500 a great pulse oximeter with some of the more advanced features of the 9550 Onyx II. With the addition of a 4 year warranty and a lower price than the 9500 Onyx, the result became the 9590 Onyx Vantage. We think this is a great move on Nonin's part, and while we are sad to see such a successful product as the 9500 Onyx go, we are excited about what the 9590 offers customers in terms of accuracy, durability and value. We think you'll agree as well. As for the 9550 Onyx II, these will still be available to the US military but will no longer be available for public purchase.

An Industry Leading Warranty
Why is buying a Nonin worth it? The answer isn't just because they make a great product. They stand behind what they make as well. The 9590 Onyx Vantage comes with an amazing 4 year manufacturer warranty. You won't find a better warranty on a fingertip pulse oximeter anywhere.
Accuracy You Can Trust
Nonin has long led the pack in accuracy with their well-known PureSAT® technology. This technology has been independently tested to be consistent across a wide range of patients and conditions, including those with low perfusion and dark skin tones. Hospitals, Doctors and Clinics have long used Nonin pulse oximeters in high intensity settings for this very reason. The 9590 Onyx Vantage carries on this tradition by incorporating the same PureSAT® technology that has made Nonin pulse oximeters renowned in hospitals, clinics and home care situations the world over.
Durability You Can Count On
Nonin puts the 9590 through rigorous tests to ensure you are getting a pulse oximeter that will be there when you need it. The 9590 is designed and tested to withstand a minimum of 50 drops and exceeds the IP32 water ingress standard, protecting it from water sprays from rainstorms or splashes. You can trust that the 9590 Onyx Vantage will not only provide with vital oxygen saturation statistics when you need them, but will do it wherever you go.
Suited for Almost Any Application
The low cost, great warranty, accuracy and durability of the 9590 makes it an ideal choice for the clinic, emergency room, ambulance, and home care. Medical personnel will appreciate the wide range of finger sizes the 9590 will accomodate, from 8mm pediatric size fingers to 25.4mm adults. They will also welcome the durability of the 9590 in all manner of high intensity situations like ambulances and the emergency room. Home care patients will rest easy knowing they are using the same technology used by their doctor when taking their statistics at home.
Looking for a Long-Term or Continuous Monitoring Solution?
While capable of continuously monitoring oxygen saturation for up to 36 hours, the 9590 Onyx Vantage is ideally suited for spot-checks and infrequent and short-term continuous monitoring. If you are looking for a pulse oximeter that has greater flexibility for long term monitoring situations, we recommend the 3150 WristOx2. If you need a portable unit with memory and alarm functions, we'd suggest looking at the 2500A handheld pulse oximeter.
